We are sure you have heard of the Land O' Lakes region of North Frontenac Township and now you can experience this delightful area of Ontario for yourself. It's only two and a half hours from Toronto, 1.5 hours from Ottawa and less than an hour from Kingston. If you are coming from the U.S., visitors will be pleased to hear that the region is easily accessible via I-81, plus a 50 minute drive from the Thousand Islands Bridge border crossing. The main east-west highways are the 401 and 7 (the Trans Canada Highway), and the two primary north-south routes are Highways 38 and 41.
When you pull up to your cottage, try not to be overjoyed at your choice of winter vacation destination because it doesn't get much better than this !!! As you will see below, you are in a very special place where there is a full 180 degree view of the lake with all day sun and stunning sunsets in the evening.
As you exit the main level of the cottage there is a furnished deck with a propane barbecue and a nice view of the property. The thing that impressed us the most was the absolute peacefulness and quiet nature of the area. Don't look for neighbors because there are none which ensures your privacy. The entire point is yours to enjoy. This property is virtually flat which makes it just right for anyone with knee or back problems.
You can just imagine the starry night sky
where a view of the Milky Way is assured. The kids will have a ball on this property. Have the kids make a snow fort and if the snow is right, how about the biggest snowman in the world. If you are a cross country skiing or snowshoeing family, this cottage will be fantastic if the snow is right. Snowmobiling and cross country skiing is at your front and back door. Trails are nearby so get ready for that adventure. However please limit the use of your snowmobiles on the property. Check snowmobiling conditions on the lake and if safe, enjoy but "if you don't know, don't go". It is always better to be safe than sorry. More winter information will be forthcoming shortly.
And by all means take pictures and share some with us and the owners of the cottage. We are always thrilled to see our customers having a great time at one of our cottages.
Big Gull Lake is over 19 kilometers in length which is made up of between 70 to 80% Crown land. If you are in need of supplies during your stay, there are several towns within an easy drive of the cottage. There is much to see and do in this area and if you need additional information
