Outside
|
The outside starts inside with a spacious screened in porch which is furnished with table, chairs and other seating. From this vantage point you can see the deck and hot tub clearly as well as the spectacular view of Redstone Lake beyond. The two level deck is a delight with various chairs for your lounging pleasure as well as the aforementioned hot tub to soothe those aching muscles after a hard day on the water. There is a well constructed staircase leading to the shoreline where you will find a furnished shore deck and dock and a selection of boats including a rowboat, canoe and kayak for your on water pleasure. On the cottage level there is a grassed in play area for lawn games. This cottage is within 20 minutes of the village of West Guilford where there is a food store, gas station and a few shops for your shopping pleasure. If you are looking for more substantial shopping and entertainment, the Village of Haliburton is only another 10 minutes away where there are many other shops, large food stores, bars, live entertainment, a theatre and much much more. If golf is your game, there are several courses within the Haliburton Highlands to test your skill. North of your cottage and within a 15 minute drive you will find the Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Centre including the Walk in the Clouds attraction and the Wolf Centre. While in this area of Kennisis Lake, you may wish to rent a boat at the Kennisis Lake Marina and test the waters of this beautiful lake as well during your stay in The Highlands. I great day trip would be a drive north into Algonquin Park where there is much to see and do. All in all, this cottage is in the centre of the Haliburton Highlands and within an easy drive of over 600 lakes and scenery of this popular but not over crowded part of Ontario.
